I am experiencing some financial problems in my life right now and the only thing I hold of immediate value is my books. The D&D community of Reddit suggested I come here to attempt to not have to sell the books to my favorite game. I hate asking for help but I need it.

Hey Man, good luck out there. I am one of the team who worked on the original Vampire: the Masquerade. For me, D&D was friends, validation and hope that others out there got me and could share with me. I hope this little bit helps.
