TEAM Food Pantry Needs Help!
TEAM Food Pantry is a 501c3 non-profit charity located in Florissant, MO, a suburb of St. Louis. Last year at this time, we were serving an average of 36 families a day. Recently, we've been averaging 45, and on Thursday 8/21 we helped 63 families struggling with food insecurity.
We are a neighboring community with Ferguson, MO. It is widely known that the schoolyear was postponed in Ferguson, but that was also the case in Florissant (we are the two halves of the Ferguson-Florissant School District). TEAM is helping local families who have missed work due to the district closure, who have missed work to care for children out of school, who have had the extra expense of unexpected childcare and who were counting on two meals a day for their children in school.
The ripple effect of this financial hit will be felt by families for weeks and months to come. Missed income and additional expenses can lead to difficulty paying monthly utilities, choices between food and medications, etc. Not many of us can go without a week of pay without struggling, and TEAM is here to help those facing food insecurity.
We are dedicated, but we are also in danger of having to dramatically reduce services within the next four weeks because this steadily growing increase in demand is happening at the same time donations are down.
Right now, we are buying food to stock the shelves, but we cannot continue without additional financial help. At this rate, we will deplete the funds that we have by September, so we are asking for your help.
In the last ten days of July alone, $6,450 was spent to make sure we could help those in need when they came for help. To be honest, we need more than the $15,000 goal, but meeting that amount would help tremendously in the immediate. Shortly we will need to purchase a new (to us) truck and other costs are looming, but the priority right now is keeping food on the shelves.
Please take a moment and make a donation to this wonderful organization. And remember, do not think that your donation is too little. Every dollar raised will be turned into food, which means that you have the power to eradicate hunger for someone. That's incredible when you think about it!
PLEASE share this link on you Facebook page to help us get the word out!
Thank you so much for reading, and thank you in advance to everyone supporting TEAM! And, for more information about our organization, please visit TEAMFoodPantry.com.

We are currently at $3,590 on our fundraiser here, and are hoping very much we can hit $4,000 this week! What a way to ring in the new year!
If you would like to make a donation, we would sure appreciate it. If you can't do that at this time, but would still like to support, please share a link to this fundraiser on social media and let your friends know about us!
We are hanging in there, and are so grateful for all the kind contributions. Your support means so much to us, and to a whole lot of local families who benefit from that kindness.
Thanks, and have a safe and happy new year!

There will be many non-profits asking for your help on #GivingTuesday, so we appreciate you taking the time to read about us!
TEAM Food Pantry is located in the Ferguson-Florissant school district just north of St. Louis, MO. We are a 501c3 non-profit run by a 100% volunteer staff. We are open six days a week and help an average of 45 families daily.
Each family in need leaves with a grocery cart of food, and for about $20, we can provide the bulk of the food for that cart.
Clients come to TEAM once a month for supplemental food, but we know that -- for some -- we are the only stable food source as they struggle with food insecurity.
The summer months this year were very challenging, as donations are generally lower during the mid-year. After the school district closed for seven school days in August, we saw an increase in demand for help that has not yet gone down.
During that closure, district employees missed work and pay. Parents throughout the district had to arrange for childcare during the day or miss work to care for kids home from school.
Many families in our district live paycheck-to-paycheck. Missing work and/or having the unexpected expense of childcare has stressed these families financially. We serve clients who are falling behind on utilities, choosing between medication and food, and who struggle to make rent or mortgage payments because of this financial hardship. Sometimes all it takes to become food insecure is a missed week of pay.
TEAM Food Pantry primarily serves families in the Florissant and Hazelwood communities, but is able to provide limited service to families outside these areas.
Kids and senior citizens rely on this pantry, as do so many hard-working families.
TEAM was faced with the choice of turning away people in need, or spending money from our reserve fund to keep food on the shelves. Our mission is to feed people, so we used savings to do it.
With our funding now significantly depleted, we established this fundraiser in the hopes of continuing service.
Would you kindly consider sponsoring a grocery cart of food for a family in need? For $20, you can change hungry bellies into full bellies, struggling hearts into comforted hearts, and you can uplift a family who doesn't want to need help, but has no other option.
All funds raised here will be used exclusively for the purchase of food, and our need is so high at this time that money donated at the beginning of the week will become distributed food by the end of the week.
Thank you so much for reading about us, and please know that we are so grateful for donations in any amount. Every dollar makes a difference!

First, a tremendous thank you goes out to all the kind people who have donated to our operation! We have already used the funds collected here to purchase food for those in our community who need assistance. So, if you have made a donation, you have already helped someone in need. (Probably many someones!)
At this time, TEAM is running lower on funds than we have in many years. Demand has increased this year, and the numbers have stayed up. At times we serve 45 or 50 clients a day, and those clients have families of anywhere from one person to eight or ten people.
In an average week, TEAM spends about $1500 for food supplies alone. We do not want to cut service, but are getting to the point where we will have no other option. Once our funds are depleted, we will have no choice.
TEAM is a 100% volunteer-run organization. No money collected here goes to overhead or salaries. This online fundraiser is set up so that we can get money in the bank, food in the pantry, and supper into the hungry bellies of the families around us.
Asking for help isn't easy, but we're doing it now so that we can keep helping the people who have limited options, limited resources, and whose voices are often unheard.
If you are able to make a donation, in any amount, please do, and know that all the people at TEAM Food Pantry are incredibly grateful. The very last thing we want to do is turn someone away when they come for help.
Thanks very much!
