The Sigma Beta Club was founded in 1950 by Dr. Parlett Moore as a response to the changing needs in our communities. He recognized the role that Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. could play in the lives of youth, and founded the Sigma Beta Club to carry out his vision. Sigma Beta Club's goal is to develop wholesome value, leadership skills, and both social and cultural awareness within youth at the most critical stage in their personal development.
Many of these young men in our club have aspirations of going to college but don't have the resources to visit schools outside of the immediate DC area. In support of this educational initiative, we plan on visiting HBCU campuses in Southern Virginia and North Carolina. However, this can only be done with your help. By donating money to this cause, you will allow these young men to expand their academic horizons and get a feel for the college experience.
The money raised for this trip will go transportation, lodging and food for these young men.
