Dawson Allington's Brain Surgery

Donation protected
Dawson Allington has over come so many challenges in his life, at a young age he was diagnosed with high functioning autism spectrum disorder/Asperger’s.  In his teens he developed a passion for everything Jeep. He bought his first ’97 jeep wrangler at 16 and then soon after a ’79 Jeep truck, which he rebuilt and did a complete engine and transmission swap in 3 months.  He discovered Ultra 4 racing soon after and set out to build his wrangler to be a 4600-stock class race car. After a year of working on his wrangler he met a race team that was selling their ’97 Wrangler that was already built for the track. With his dream in sight Dawson bought this jeep and began getting it ready for the races in 2018.

In early 2018, After complaining of dizziness, headaches and chronic fatigue My older brother, Dawson went to the doctor for an MRI it was discovered that he had a 2 cm tumor in the fourth ventricle of his brain. This news came the day before he was setting out for the biggest Ultra 4 race of the year, King of the Hammers. Not wanting the knowledge of his diagnosis to stop him from achieving his dreams, He continued to the race, and finish with an unofficial 3rd in the 4600 class. The doctor had told him that in 3 months It would be time to do another MRI to see if the tumor had grown. Before Ultra 4 Stampede in May 2018 Dawson went back for the second MRI. There was no change in the tumor’s size they decided to wait an additional 3 months to check the tumor’s growth. Dawson took 1st at stampede and was quickly on his way to winning the national championships. The next two races of the season, Clash at Crossbar Ranch and Rampage at Ridgecrest were also great successes earning him a 2nd and 3rd place. After Ridgecrest Dawson’s symptoms began to intensify and while he had scheduled his 3rd MRI for after the National Championships in October. It was increasingly apparent that he needed to have another MRI done sooner. The week before National’s Dawson went in for his MRI and the tumor had grown .3mm on one side. The doctor decided that it was time for the tumor to be removed. Dawson went and raced at the Ultra 4 National Championship, taking 1st in the race as well as the western series and taking home the National Champion Title.
Now Dawson is taking on his surgery on November 1st. With a recovery time of a minimum of 4 to 8 weeks, Dawson will be out of work. At 22 Dawson has tackled his dreams even with this tumor impairing his day to day life, He is such a huge inspiration to me and everyone who knows him. The estimated cost for his surgery is $100,000. Dawson, his family, and friends thank anyone and everyone who is willing to donate to his medical expenses. We appreciate all the, good thoughts, happy vibes, and prayers sent to Dawson for a stress free and quick recovery, so he can be back in his Jeep racing in February 2018!
