Firstly can we thank you for visiting the Dawn Shepherd Foundation page and for all of the support from everybody so far.

This fundraising page has been set up to honour the life of our beautiful princess Dawn Shepherd who passed away on the 3rd of November 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dawn has two gorgeous boys called Cameron age 9 and Lewis age 11 and through this page and other fundraising we want to help these brave boys as much as possible for their future.

Everyone keeps asking what they can do to help so here is an idea,.... Whilst we know for sure the boys are in amazing hands being brought up by Dawn's lovely family (and the amazing Charlotte)  with the support from Jason her boyfriend, we thought we can also help take some of the pressure away through donations to the boys for their future.

Let’s together make sure that the legacy of Dawn Shepherd lasts a life time and together give her brave boys the very best of futures. Lets do Dawn proud people.

We have set up a Facebook page called the Dawn Shepherd Foundation so please like our page  https://m.facebook.com/dawnshepherdfoundation/

This year Dawn was at her happiest moving in to her brand new dream home in July with her two boys, her boyfriend Jason and his two boys. Dawn was also running her own successful beauty business with her friend Helen. Then life took a different turn..

Here is the story of Dawns brave battle...

Dawn had ovarian cancer 5 years ago and managed to beat it but in August this year Dawn was rushed into hospital with excruciating leg pain. Once at the hospital the doctors found she had a collapsed lung and that she had a massive pocket of fluid that had caused this. The only symptoms that she had up to then was back pain but Dawn being the person she is struggled on and carried on as normal, being an amazing mum to the boys moving in to her dream home with Jason and running her business. Dawn was admitted to hospital and as soon as they could they started to drain the fluid. Throughout her time in hospital Dawn tried her best to remain upbeat and positive as did the rest of us. She was discharged after 6 days still not feeling great and she went home. However towards the end of August she was told the devastating news that the cancer had returned and this was the start of Dawn's amazing brave fight. She was admitted to Christies so they could start the chemo immediately and things escalated quickly. The chemo was much stronger than the chemo given in 2011 and it made her so poorly with horrible side effects but she fought on attending weekly for the dreaded chemo, even though she knew the days following would be horrendous,  throughout all this Dawn carried on fighting like a super woman. Unfortunately despite her amazing fight and braveness the chemo hadn't worked and had made her so poorly she was exhausted and in so much pain from all the side effects the doctors allowed her home with Jason and the boys to enjoy a few days at home without being constantly prodded and poked and to get some rest. On Saturday 29th October she was admitted to Christies for the final time but things deteriorated quickly and on 3rd November just after 3pm she took her last breath and fell to sleep with her family all by her side.

Dawn was an amazing mum, daughter, sister, girlfriend and friend who was loved by so many and known by everyone for her beautiful smiley face.

Dawn was incredibly brave and strong and we are all so so so proud of her and that strength has obviously passed on to her boys in which they will carry their mum in everything they do and everywhere they go.

We will love and miss her every day for the rest of our lives. Heaven has certainly gained the most beautiful angel.

Thank you and love to you all xxx
