Logan medical bills

I want to thank all of you who have given so far. That money went a long way towards paying Logan's medical bills, for his PHYSICAL illness.

Unfortunately, my son Logan didn't just inherit my physical issues -- he inherited my depression issues as well. He has been on antidepressants for almost two years now. Nothing seems to help.

His psychiatrist has recommended something called Trans-cranial magnetic stimulation (check out the Wikipedia page on it here, if you want). This is for people with "treatment-resistant" depression -- in other words, if meds don't help, this does.

Two bottom lines here:

One, it has a high success rate.

Two, it's very, very expensive, even with insurance. It will end up costing us around $4,000 -- and it's a very, very rigid payment plan: $800 a month, starting THIS WEEK.

I hate to ask for help -- I really do. But this is for my son. He doesn't deserve to have to deal with this.

I need to reach the goal of $10,500 in order to pay for this. The $6500 given so far has gone towards the medical bills for his physical illness.

Thanks in advance. I'm always amazed by the generosity of my friends, and of this community.

THANK YOU.

Thanks to all of you for making my son's treatment possible. I wish -- truly -- that I could scroll down through each donation and send you all a personal note.

My son means everything to me, and you folks have made a key treatment for him possible.

I just wanted to let you know that he's roughly halfway through the TMS treatment, and slowly but surely we are seeing positive changes. And again, it's all thanks to you folks.

We're not there yet, but we are a hell of a lot closer than we would be without you.

I wish the best for all of you. And I'll keep you posted.

It's hard to find the time to update -- but I owe it to all of you. First of all, thank you, again, for your kindness and your help.

My son had a doctor appointment today; he has another one tomorrow in a town about an hour away; and on Wednesday, another doctor appointment in Dallas, about two hours away. Kind of a typical week around here.

Even with insurance, these visits cost money -- copay -- so again, thank you for the help.

My goal is to thank all of you personally with a note. I may be slow to do that, but I will try. In the meantime, please know that you are appreciated, and that you've made a dark time better.

Update: my son's hospital visit:

Logan went into the hospital on Monday and was there through Wednesday. I wanted to update all of you at that time, but the hospital is two hours away and we were running ourselves ragged just getting through the days.

The great news is that he's home now. We still have a long way to go, with many more costly doctor visits in the near future, but things are a little better now. Fingers crossed.

Thanks so much to everyone for the kind words, and for donating to the GoFundMe. You're all awesome, and you've made a very difficult time easier than it otherwise would have been.

I've thanked some of you personally for giving, and I'll get around to thanking everyone. But for now... please know that you are really appreciated.

Happy Holidays, folks.
