Davidson Family Trust

$62,375 of $189,000 goal

Raised by 6 people in 4 months
We are the Davidson family originally from Elphin, Ontario, Canada (Mark and Rita and our 4 boys, 3 with autism) We lost our home, business, and van that was burnt to the ground in a devastating fire July 19th, 2013. We had no insurance, (not our choice) and lost our business as well.  Costs estimated at over -$750,000 lost.  We are trying to raise $189,000 the cost of replacing our home (not including our van and business lost). Our home was paid off, as was all our equipment for printing. After 6 months homeless, and 10 months in a 600 Sq foot trailer we had to get a debt of a double-mortage of -$160,000 to get a house. Just 2 years later, we were spending money to replace covered up rotten windows, solve ongoing humidity issues causing mold, and now with my elderly mother with dementia living with us, we realized this house is not large enough (1100 sq feet for 7 of us) for our boys special needs. Its been a long, stressful 4 years for us all. As of 2017, Our business still needs to be rebuilt. We have hard-drives holding our business and personal files including the last of our memories and baby photo's that need salvaging. 7 Boxes remain of our life of photos, and rare documents still in need restoring. Life has been so busy fixing this house, taking care of our boys, my elderly mother, we have not had time to get done what we need to. For 2017 we need to repair, restore, enlarge

or find our final "home" so we can finally REST and see smiles back on our boys faces?

It’s #givingtuesday who knew?! Lol and we are so thankful for all that got us this far! But as you all know my Lyme and Bells Palsy recovery has been compromised by our home that has mold. We fixed as much as we could before trying to sell our home last summer but the exposure to the mold has left me with a low immunity and now is affecting our health... your support is Helping us decide how to go forward from here and how to find the people and professionals that we need to get this house properly fixed. Thank you!! #davidsonfamilytrust #fire2013 #autism #lymedisease #bellspalsy #recovery

From July 19th, 2017....
GOODMORNING my friends! FOUR years ago today, on St Vincent de Paul's Feast day, at this very moment, we were standing on the side of our road watching our home burn to the ground. With noisy fire trucks, people talking, smoke and confusion we watched our dreams crumble into nothing. We walked away not even with shoes on our feet. Just the night clothes on our back. It's as vivid for us as it was then. If I ever would have known it would take us this long to get back in our feet I may have fainted on the spot. But when fundraisers were cancelled on us, and well meaning people closed down our Trust Fund after 30 days, we were stranded with a way to raise the money we needed fast enough. We were homeless for 6 months, with no running water or indoor toilets, took us 18 months to get back in a house after my MOM double mortgaged FOR US. So you can see why I am so thankful to my mom today. This was her last act of generosity after a lifetime of it. Her last gift to us. It wasn't until later I seen it was St Vincent Feast day.. but it was so fitting really. So much more I will share in my upcoming book of our fire "Breadcrumbs from God." But today thank you St Vincent for taking care of us all these years. And thank you mom for being there for us
