David Hodge's Recovery Fund
You may know David Hodge as a friend, neighbor, teacher, guitarist, blogger, author of several complete idiots guide books, editor of guitarnoise.com or all around good guy. On July 16th of this year he suffered a stroke. David is always giving, always there when you need him, but now he needs your help.
Would you consider contributing the cost of a lesson? Thanks. Can't afford a lesson right now? No matter, whatever you can give, every penny will be appreciated. Let's pay back some of David's generosity as he works through rehab.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are all amazing. We had donations from all around the world.
Let's keep on trucking though. I'm going to leave the campaign open through August.
Friday night a bunch of old friends gathered together with David at the rehab center. The staff gladly gave us a place to play and some of the patients were an audience. David and I did Everybody's Talking as duet, he played the uke and sang beautiful harmony. He participated in a number of other songs, playing banjo, uke, guitar or melodica.
Saturday evening was the benefit concert at the graciously donated Dewey Hall in Sheffield. The Berkshire Strings opened the festivities, followed by The Berkshire Ukulele Band and then I had the honor of playing with the Riverside Jam band. After that we had an open mic to close out the benefit.
A great time was had by all, there was dancing, drinking,(I only had water of course), eating, a raffle and great music.
I told David we are going to have to do it again next year, but with him back 100% and leading the band.
Thanks to everyone who helped with the weekend and to all of you who helped through this page. We are almost at our final goal. I'll update when we hit it.
