DAVID JONES College Fund

Hello. I was thinking of a way to honor David Jones, the love of my life, who was brutally murdered on June 8th 2017 by a racist Philadelphia Police officer. Anyone who knew DAVID personally knew he was a kind, loving, hard working man who enjoyed life to the fullest. As a young adult DAVID had it hard and decided to sell drugs to get by. He ended up going to prison for on non violent drug charges. He served his time and upon release he vowed to NEVER GO BACK, and he kept his word. The only place that would hire him was a cab company. He worked Day and night just to make ends meet and most of those nights he came home empty handed. Although it was very discouraging he REFUSED to return to the life of fast money. He decided to find a career that would make him enough money to live comfortably but it was hard with a felony record but he pressed on until he did. He enrolled in Allstate and obtained his CDL license. He was hired by Roadtex LLC and he worked there until his untimely death. There were sooooo many roadblocks he faced trying to enroll in school because of his criminal past but he did not let them stop him! I want to help someone faced with the same difficulties he faced. ALL monies raised will go directly towards tuition and fees for the school of the scholarship winners choice. EVERYONE deserves a 2nd chance and although Davids was short he made the most of it and turned his life around, you can too!
In order to qualify you must;
1. Have a criminal background with 0 intentions of continuing down the wrong path.
2. Be accepted and enrolled at a college or trade school.
3. Have a tuition bill (if scholarship doesn't cover the entire bill must show proof of financial aid or loans that will cover remanding balance
4. Commite 20hrs mentoring troubled youth in your community.
5. Although it's not required I strongly recommend a great support system. Having someone there for you through your struggles helps tremendously, I was Davids support system.
