David A. Oliver Get Him Home
As most of you are aware by now, David returned to the United States last week. Our sister Beverly Thornton reached out to an organization Detained in Dubai. It was thru this media attention that the bank forgave David's debt and the travel ban lifted. We are truly thankful to all of you that helped us to keep David housed and fed. We are now in the process of getting him medical and mental help. Again, thank you to everybody that helped us help David. God Bless
*Another note* The US State Department is limited in what they can do to help. At this time the US State Department is under threat of major budget cuts and had many pressing issues regarding US citizens abroad. If you do not wish to send money over the internet, you can contact the organizer to make additional arrangements via sending a check or money order.
Please help!! There is no charity system for non-Emirates in the UAE. If he is not able to pay off his bill, he will be held indefinitely in the UAE without any means of self-support (no work visa) until the bill is paid. Those who fall behind in bills in the UAE are subject to incarceration. David is too ill and is unable to take care of himself at this time. He needs help from friends and family and anyone who can spare a few dollars.
Missing You David ...❤️⚜️
David's condition has progressed. It appears he has a type of neurological issue that is progressing (hand tremors and an appearance called "masking" which is due to loss of control over facial muscles which can give the afflicted a fixed stare and a limited ability to make expressions). They can also have what is known as a flattened affect that limits the range of emotional expressions (although some limited anger can be the most apparent emotional expression). Mood swings along with general depression is another feature of neurological disorders. David needs to be seen at home by a specialist with the Veterans Hospital located in New Orleans (since he is a US Army veteran) where his condition can be medically assessed and a course of ongoing therapeutic treatment can be administered and followed.
Is David able to receive mail?
