Dave's First Big Dart Tournament

When my friends first convinced me to start playing darts, I don't think they knew just how darts mad I would become.
Right away, I knew that darts would be the thing that I wanted to be the very best that I could be at.
This was about six years ago and during that time I have dedicated myself to getting better. At one point I was putting in 20 hours a week of just practice.  (This is too much, and doesn’t allow much recovery time,  so I've toned it down a little)
For competition I have mostly been playing in pub dart leagues, and that can be a lot of fun and you can meet some good people, but more and more I was starting to see that my relationship with the game is different than most of the people in the league who were out for a fun social Tuesday night that happened to involve a bit of darts.  Oh I enjoy that too, but I also needed more, to challenge myself, and to grow as a player.
I decided that I would quit league darts and from the money I saved from not doing that, I could attend some of the official ranked and bigger tournaments.
The first one I was supposed to go to was the Marion Carli back in June of this year.  Instead I developed something called Transverse Myelitis which left me unable to walk and stuck in the hospital for a week of spinal taps and a bombardment of tests.
Still, I did get out of the hospital, and was able to get around, first with the use of a walker (apparently officially known as a ‘rollator’) and then eventually as I am now with a cane.
I even had a new tournament to go to in Kitchener.  Sadly, however, my physical limitations made it impossible to keep doing the same job (Security) that I had been doing for the last 17 years.
I am now pursuing new opportunities and looking to learn new things, and I am hopeful for my future, but because of it Kitchener came and went the middle of this month without me there.

Now there is only the Bob Jones left for tournaments that I could realistically make it out to. (Everything else is either out of province and/or too expensive to get to)

I have no ability to get there on my own in my current circumstance.
I feel a little selfish asking here, but if you did help me here, it might not change the world, but I would appreciate it immensely.

The money would go towards transportation, and accommodations as well as tournament fees and similar costs.

Keep in mind that there will be nationally ranked players there and this will be my first dance, as it were.

if you send me there, it will be because you respect and support my dedication, or that you want to give me the growth and experience opportunity.
the chances of me going and winning much are not in my favour.

With all that in mind I hope you will still choose to support me in whichever way you can.

The Bob Jones takes place at the end of october.

Thank You,
