Dave Smith's Recovery Fund
Those of you that know Dave, know the strength of his spirit. So many of us have had the very course of our lives redirected, by our dear Dave Smith.
There has been an outpouring of love and support from those Dave has touched from all over the country, and all over the world. Now it is our turn to support Dave, in the way he needs it most. Much of Dave's livelihood comes from whatever is offered to get him to the next class, or meditation retreat.
Unfortunately, this has not included any medical insurance. Some specifics for the future that Dave will need are: Home care, medical equipment , follow up medical care, and physical therapy. Pelvic surgery is a very complicated one and although Dave is lucky enough to have one of the best orthopedic teams working with him the surgery alone can cost up to $50,000. The on-going costs of medication, physical therapy, medical equipment, and nurse care can exceed $100,000.
What is needed now is for the same generosity that guides Dave’s life to carry him through the massive costs of healing his body- so that he can continue kindling joy, freedom, and truth wherever he goes.
Thanks to all of you for the support, both financial and emotional. I am recovering better than expected and it has been both challenging and hopeful. This week I had 5 Dr. appointments, and 2 Dentist appointments. The support that you all have provided has given me the opportunity to get a good medical insurance plan and to be able to do some much needed physical therapy which is extremely helpful, painful and also costly. It will take about 1 year for me to get back to the strength I had before the accident. Slow and steady seems to be the way. The damage I did to my pelvis was very extreme and the Dr and the PT specialist both state that the recovery is longer than most. I am currently sitting with a lot of hope and gratitude. Thank you again, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or just want to check in. email@example.com
I am currently at home recovering....slowing. I had a massive injury to my pelvis which shattered it in a few spots. I can get around on crutches and a wheelchair and anticipate that I will be able to get to some walking in about 8 weeks or so.
I am doing some teaching at ATS, which is harder than I expected. My energy is low but my mind and heart feel stronger by the day.
big love to you all, I hope to see and meet you on the path.
The funds will be withdrawn in her name. The funds will all go directly to Dave's medical bills and medical supplies. Thank-you all so much for your generosity and out-pouring of love.
Love love love, so wonderful to hear you are doing so well. Family is everything in life!!!
