Thank you for supporting this Go Fund Me page. Your donations will help offset the production and travel costs for the upcoming documentary film, A Peloton of One. As well as help with future projects to be conducted by the upcoming, The Peloton of One Foundation.
Thanks to donations to date, we have completed Phase 1: the production of a sample short film, which also serves as Act 1 of the documentary.
Phase 2 (COMPLETED): The filming of Dave's epic bicycle ride in October of 2018. We just came back from the road from an incredibly inspired and successful film shoot. Dave had a great reception from Family and Friends at Tierney's Tavern in his home ttown of Montclair, NJ.
On to Phase 3, Post-Production of our documentary. We will continue to seek additional funds to now finish the film. For our two weeks of filming we have amassed an incredible amount of content that will now be crafted into what we feel is going to be an important story of hope, healing and understanding.

Background on the Documentary Film Project
A Peloton of One is an upcoming, full-length, documentary film that will follow the journey of Dave Ohlmuller as he cycles from Chicago, IL, to Montclair, NJ.
Sexually abused at the age of 12 years old, Dave will ride to inspire other Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA) to come out and tell their stories. And he will ride to bring awareness of and to inspire action against the Statute of Limitations laws (SOL) as they relate to CSA. Laws that are currently being debated and voted upon in key states across America. Laws that are as antiquated as they are unjust. Laws that serve to silence the victimized and empower the predators.
Dave Ohlmuller has gathered key supporters and production talent to help him on his journey, including the following:
President/Co-Founder of the Road to Recovery nonprofit organization that specializes in assisting child abuse victims across the USA. Bob is also a survivor of sexual abuse as a child.
Joe wrote, produced and starred in the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway play, For Pete’s Sake, a dark comedy based on his own experiences of sexual abuse as a teen and young adult.
John Bernardo and Steve Mallorca
This team is responsible for a variety of TV content, web series, and documentary films that have aired on ESPN, NBCU, and Sundance TV. John is also a lifelong, high school friend of Dave’s.
Dave Ohlmuller will begin his journey as A Peloton of One. But at his end of his tour, he hopes to have amassed a support group that is thousands of miles long, all with a spirit as indomitable as his own.
Thanks for all your help and support to date. More updates to come!
Hello, this is John Bernardo, Co-Director and Co-Executive Producer of the upcoming documentary film on Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA), A Peloton of One.
On behalf of Dave Ohlmuller, Joe Capozzi, Steve Mallorca, and the rest of the production team, I want to thank you, once more, for all your encouragement and support. The below is just a small sample of the sentiment that has helped fuel our journey.
“I believe this is a story that needs to be told and it’s an honor to support it.”
“This donation is in memory of my father. If he taught me anything, he taught me that you stand and endure with those you love. “
“May the wind be at your back and the road rise up to meet you, Dave!”
“Wishing Dave all the best in this noble effort.”
“I owe my recovery to Dave.”
Thanks to your contributions, we have been able to complete what’s known as Principal Photography. I.e., we have finished filming the movie and are now ready to move on to editing, to transforming all our footage into the powerful documentary we all know this will be.
As you know, this film is driven by Dave’s epic ride from Chicago to Montclair. However, what also galvanizes this movie is the incredibly diverse array of Survivors and Advocates that we met along the way. Each are doing outstanding work for the CSA cause.
We met Survivors from the sports arena and the music industry, a passionate father of a CSA victim who committed suicide, and an inspirational teenage voice from Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Our list of Advocates is an impressive group of lawyers, politicians, and activists: e.g., Marci Hamilton, Kathryn Robb, and Senator Joe Vitale.
Earlier this year, these change-agents successfully pushed for revisions to CSA laws in the key states of New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Specifically, they fought to fix these states’ arcane CSA Statute of Limitations laws. For example, currently in New York, if you do not come forward about your abuse by the age of 23, you cannot bring your abuser to court, despite the evidence you may have. These new laws would elevate that age restriction closer to 50 years old. This is a huge step in helping Survivors get the justice and peace of mind they so richly deserve.
Linked here is a short, 3-minute highlight reel that provides some visual insights into our bike ride and interviews.
As I mentioned, we are at the endgame of film production, but we still have a few more miles to go. Since the end of the bike ride, we have been working on transcribing our footage, outlining our narrative, and other post-production needs. The next step is the much less glamorous step of hunkering down for 6-8 weeks and editing the film, including incorporating graphic effects and music/score.
To that end, we created a Kickstarter Campaign to obtain the finishing funds needed to complete this documentary. If you know of anyone else who would be interested in joining our movement, please forward the below link. Once again, we thank you for joining our Peloton of One. We are all one mind, one spirit, dedicated to helping the millions of Childhood Sexual Abuse Survivors in the USA and around the world through the amplifying power of documentary film!
Thank you again for your support in sharing our link and liking/following us on social media. It's working! And most important, thank you for trusting us in the making of what we feel will be an important story that will bring great healing and understanding too many.
