Support Dassinger Ranch
If you live in North Dakota and own any livestock, the current "investigation" that
Gerald (Gary) Dassinger in involved in should scare you. Under current law, your
animals can be seized and sold without due process.
Secondly, Stark County has not performed a proper investigation which would include
asking you or allowing you to provide any information regarding how you care for
In the words of the one accusing vet "there is no discussion, this is what's happening."
And even if a second and third veterinarian, as well as multiple ranchers say that
this is NOT a cruelty and neglect situation, you will be deemed "guilty until proven
This case has already cost Gary over $20,000 and he is still fighting, and he needs
YOUR HELP! If Stark County and the one accusing vet have their way, you will not be able
to provide any self care to your animals. Every shot, treatment for any injury, or
basic assessment of an animal can ONLY be done by a veterinarian.
If every animal does not have high quality feed and a water source in front of it at
all items, you are neglecting your animals. And, if you have any moss in your water
source, it is deemed "unacceptable."
North Dakota farmers, ranchers, and animal lovers. This case is NOT what the initial
media reports want you to believe. No animals starved to death. There are no Body
Condition scores of "1" that can be verified by photographs. And there is, and has
always been sufficient food and water on the Dassinger ranch.
Gary has been advised that this case may go all the way to the North Dakota Supreme
Court so that we can get this law overturned so that no other animal owner had to
experience this misuse of power.
That is going to take a lot of money.
More money than Gary has.
He might be the person who is currently fighting this law, but everyone, to include
farmers and ranchers who own animals in North Dakota need to join his fight.
If they can do this to him, they can do this to you.

What ever happened to due process and innocent until proven guilty? Does anyone feel it's ok for any authorities to come on your property and seize your property ei livestock, pets, etc. on pure say so? In North Dakota ranchers, farmers and people who have animals just for the sheer pleasure of it are under an unlawful gun. (Not to mention unconstitutional) On the surface, a law protecting animals from cruelty and abuse sounds reasonable. Until you peel back a couple layers. There is a group of lawmakers, vets, and animal rights groups trying to restrict animal and livestock owners from administering so much as vitamins without a vet's ok. That means animal chiropractors, massage therapists and even farriers will no longer exist. The veterinarians will be in control of all these services. Anyone found giving their animals meds, massage, chiropractic service could be in danger of having their animals seized. It is outrageous and out if control! Dig deeper into this ND law and you will see it not only outrageous, it is down right dangerous. Seriously, are these people really thinking??? Seizure without due process could turn into a bunch of empty ranches/farms/stock yards and state owned animals that they don't even know how to care for... Yikes!!! Okay, now North Dakota, there a big ugly pimple on your butt full of a whole lot of ugly, foul smelling puss. A rancher in SW North Dakota was about to have all his animals siezed, a couple we're actually shot on the spot or confiscated!!! No warrant, no charges, no prior warnings. At this point, in this case I am not talking guilty or innocent. Im talking illegal seizure on and of private property. THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU!!!! SURE, all you have to do is get your neighbor mad at you. He'll call the sheriff, brand inspector, veterinarian, whatever. They'll haul your animals away or shoot them.Boom you are out of business! I am not saying Gary Dassinger is innocent or guilty. (God and the law will hopefully take care of that.) By the time this is all over, ND, it will come bite that pimple on your butt and all hell will break loose!!! Then God help you all.

This law should frighten all livestock producers, where does animal abuse start or end?
Hi! I want everyone to feel free to leave a comment. But, any comments that attack or put down Gary or his family will be removed. This page was created to help and encourage the Dassingers. If you have any negative feelings or thoughts on this situation there are plenty of other social media sights where you can freely express yourself. Thank you all so much!
Very well said Sallye. The fact that his situation could get to where timid is what should scare everyone who owns animals in North Dakota. The hearing yesterday and next week are so far ONLY in relation to the animal seizure order. We have not even begun to address the other charges. We need to wake up! We need to focus on standards of care so hat there are black and white rules that we all agree to in the interest of caring for the pets and livestock we care for. Having people who don't know anything about farming or ranching telling us their opinions isn't going to help our industry. We need to support clear and appropriate animal welfare standards, not animal rights.
