Eddie's Eye Surgery
Donation protected
I never ask for anything but my friends told me that I should do this to help us raise some money for Eddie's eye surgery. We adopted Eddie on August 3rd after a very thorough process. We saw Eddie's face and knew he belonged to us. We knew he was blind in his right eye and had a cataract starting in his left. However, he deserved a second chance and we did not hesitate. We took him to the eye surgeon on August 25th, where we were told that Eddie was definately blind in his right eye and that he had a cataract in his left eye and that surgery would be required eventually if he was to see. On November 23rd we went back as instructed and were told that the cataract had increased, we were given the estimate for surgery in February 2017 and drops to be given until then. We were stunned and shocked and I cried and begged the surgeon to please take into consideration he was a rescue and deserved a chance at a happy life. His response to me was "it is what it is" THE ESTIMATE IS FOR $5200.00 and $80 a visit for followup which is for the following 3 weeks after surgery plus medication. We made phone calls and tons of research for other surgeons, but this one was the number one and they all charged the same. I know some people say that IT IS JUST A DOG, what they don't understand is that this little dog deserves a second chance from being in a puppy mill or breeders. He was not neutered so we knew he was used for breeding. He was found wondering the streets. He deserves the love and home we can give me. We love him that we would do anything for him. Our Rescue said he was about 10 years old, but we went to a breeder and they determine he is more like 6-7, so he still has many years ahead. Eddie needs to be able to see more of the world. Now he is a healthy 7 lbs. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him. Eddie means the world to me and helps me with my PTSD, anxiety and depression issues. Eddie makes us laugh and we get exercise and I mean exercise...LOL...he loves his walks and sure tells us when he wants a car ride. It is hard for me to ask for help, but I am asking that if you can please find it in your heart to donate a couple of dollars for Eddie's surgery we would be greatful and I know Eddie would be very greatful also. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And he is not just a dog, HE IS FAMILY.
