Darius Foreman Recovery Fund

We are attempting to help the mother of Darius Foreman while she is out of work for the next month taking care of his medical needs and completing the necessary IV antibiotics.  Darius’s mother is required to administer these IV medications every few hours in addition to making sure his normal everyday needs are met and completing his school work until he can return to class sometime in February.

Darius suffered from a freak accident while playing outside at his aunt & uncle’s house on Saturday January 20th, 2018. The kids were building a make shift fort in the trees with scrap pieces of lumber when a board fell onto another board causing it to flip and strike Darius on top of the head.  A three inch decking screw pierced his skull as noted in the picture above and Darius was eventually air lifted to John Hopkins pediatrics in Baltimore, Maryland.  After several hours of surgery the screw was removed along with a small piece of his skull.

Recovery will take approximately 30 days during which time his mother will be out of work without pay- we are simply attempting to ease the stress of this already taxing event on his mother so she can concentrate on his recovery.  A small portion of these funds will also pay for mom’s healthcare insurance coverage during this period considering her coverage stops when taking a leave of absence. Please feel free to google the full story on CNN news and Delmarva Now.

The Go-fund me staff has requested that I add some specifics to the story line. They have asked for me to explain who I am and how the benefactor will receive the funds. Darius and my son were born just months apart and have spent their entire lives together- I am uncle Vance to my group of kids. I am there for anything they need- school, life lessons and especially when they are sick or injured. Darius has also joined the fire company as a cadet a few months ago where I have served for 25 years. We have always took the stance to help other firefighters and their families in their time of need. They have not asked for any help but we are aware of the financial circumstances and took the initiative to help with their permission. The money will be deposited into my account and a check will be written for the exact amount raised and given to his mother. Please feel free to message me on Facebook with any questions or concerns and thank you for donating!
