A sacrificial feast. The knocking of two person's fists together as a sign of greeting, camaraderie or celebration. And now - your soon-to-be favorite breakfast spot.
Our restaurant will be located in the west-side neighborhood of downtown Charleston. Aimed at being warm, inviting, serene, and all-inclusive - we're not looking to take over or largely disrupt this part of town. Quite the opposite, in fact. Our main goal in the development of Daps is to preserve the history, showcase what this underrated neighborhood has to offer, and most importantly, involve the community beyond just serving meals. That's where you come in.
We want every Charleston resident and/or enthusiast to feel truly involved and get excited about what we're doing! If you swing by 280 Ashley Avenue you can watch the magic unfold or just say hey - we’re likely there working to refurbish the space by restoring the old bricks, wood, phone booth, and friendship gates that we were lucky to have at our disposal within the building. It will be a piece of historic Charleston, slightly enhanced to suit our current morning rituals.
But better yet, we want you to be a part of the development process by picking up some swag or making an investment in your future sleepy self. From hats and t-shirts to a celebratory opening party or the chance to get the cheapest (yet delicious) cups of coffee in town, we want you to get on board early!
