South-Sudan Relief Mission

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Danny Davis, a foreign policy and defense writer based in Washington, DC.  I would be most grateful if you would join with me in helping refugees fleeing from the civil war in South Sudan.  I will be traveling to Uganda on 23 July to link up with Cyrus Mad-Bondo of WorldHelp (www.worldhelp.net), and then transport relief supplies to the relief camp they have set up in Adjumani where hundreds of thousands of South Sudanese have fled.  Every dollar you contribute – 100% of ur donations – will go to purchasing life-sustaining food and other necessities.

Every penny that is contributed to this forum will be sent in total to Alex Mitala of WorldHelp, who will purchase the items (list below) in Uganda.  I will fly to Entebee Airport in Kampala, Uganda, meet Alex there, load the supplies on a truck, and then begin the 9 hour drive to Adjumani where distribution to the families will be made.

The United Nations has been pleading for global assistance for several nations in Africa, revealing that millions are in danger of starvation.  In fact, more people world-wide are fleeing from wars and civil wars than at any time since World War II (http://www.npr.org/2017/06/20/533698511/more-people-living-as-refugees-now-than-anytime-since-wwii-new-u-n-reports-says).

I know that as a percentage of the need, my efforts barely register.  But to each and every family our joint efforts are able to help, it will mean everything to them.  i am grateful to God for the opportunity to help, and am eager to begin this mission.

Below is part of an email message i got from WorldHelp to quantify what our contributions will buy, and how many people are being helped.  The bottom line, though, is that one family of about 7 can be fed for two weeks for $60 (though as you see from the below list, some of the items are durable and long lasting).

I am investing a total of approximately $2,500 to this project and for those able, I would be grateful if you would match my contribution.  But even if you are only able to contribute $60, it will be worth it because by your generosity, a family that has fled for their life will have a chance to live!  Here are the WordHelp-approved relief supplies that will be purchased for each $60 of contributions:
