Damian Francois Medical Fund
Donation protected
Damian Francois, age 19, was the victim of an accidental shooting in his home on April 13th, 2017. As a result, the bullet is lodged in his spine and he is paralyzed from the waist down. Damian’s spirits have been lifted by the love, prayers, visits, and support he has been receiving from family and friends, keep it coming!
After weeks of treatment and therapy he is scheduled to be released from the hospital on May 19th and will continue to need the support of family and friends.
A wheelchair ramp is being installed at Damian’s aunt’s home so that he can get in and out of her home as he continues to recover, learn to use a wheelchair, and learn to tackle day to day life in a wheelchair. This move is temporary as he was living with his grandmother and her home is not wheelchair accessible for him. Damian will continue to need support to meet his medical needs. Medicaid only covers so much and this is why we are requesting $5,000 to fund equipment for Damian’s mobility needs and modifications to his Grandmother’s home so he can return there. He is also in need of funding for the following: catheters, he needs a bed that he can get in and out of, as well as bed sheets, pillows, blankets, and possible assistance with a wheelchair as it is unknown at this time how much Medicaid will assist with a wheelchair or other medical supplies. Eventually he will need his car to be adapted with hand controls so that he can drive it independently. Any amount you can donate will help Damian get the equipment and things he needs adjusting to his new life. He is keeping up a positive attitude and, in advance, says he is appreciative of your support and prayers.
Thank you!
