Help me make rent

I'm a contractor. On the 3rd of August, my last contract ended, and as I am moving soon I requested my information be transferred to another location. This was approved, and while I was searching for a new assignment I was applying for unemployment.

It's taken unusually long for eligibility to be determined, and the UC services have been annoyingly tight-lipped on the reasons why. Today, I found out that my last employer has been misrepresenting me and stating that I 'voluntarily quit', in spite of the fact that I'm still reporting to them. I could fight this in court, but that costs money I don't have, I don't have solid proof of anything, and it's their word versus mine, at this point, and meanwhile...

I am broke. I've emptied my savings account, and all I have left is a few hundred dollars in checking. My one credit card is maxed and past due. I'm searching for new employment, but I'm also a full-time student and already have payments late for a necessary auto repair back in July. Please, help me. $250 would get me enough to pay rent for next month. $500 would, honestly, cover all my bills. More than that would help me replenish my savings account and let me work on preparing for the move, but any amount would help, right now. Please.
