Cynthia's Cancer Fund
Donation protected
My relationship with Cynthia goes back to 2008 when Cynthia came to live with me as a foster child. In March of this year Cynthia was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer and began the rigorous chemo treatment. Six months of chemo will be followed by a double mastectomy and then three months of radiation. The toll that the cancer treatment has taken on Cynthia physically has been difficult to watch. Cynthia has always worked hard as a CNA to support her children, ages 12, 8, 6, 4 and 2, but the many side effects of the cancer treatment and her sickle cell have made it impossible to continue working. Cynthia has had many hospitalizations due to Neutropenia (abnormally low concentration of white blood cells) which make her more susceptible to bacterial infections. She also struggles with high blood pressure, black out spells, and extreme fatigue. Cynthia struggled to continue working through her first three months of chemo but recently resigned. She has applied for disability but it is a long process. I am hoping to raise enough money for Cynthia to pay her rent for the next three months, with the hope that disability will then kick in. Thank you for your consideration and your prayers.
