Help Resurrect the Audubon Recreation Center
It’s time to resurrect the Audubon Recreation Center. This building has been vacant for way too long and the Audubon Recreation Committee believes that we can make it new again, but we need assistance from our surrounding communities.
A non-profit organization has been created for the purpose of operating, maintaining and preserving facilities which enhance the recreational, social and leisure interests of its membership and the communities of Audubon, Audubon Park and Mt. Ephraim.
We would like to foster community participation by providing an environmentally sound facility for recreation, education, celebration, and locally based human services in order to increase opportunity for personal and collective growth in our community.
The Audubon Recreation Center Committee and Board of Trustees have a vision to breathe life back into this building. However, before we can begin offering programs, our actual structure/building is in desperate need of repair.
With the kind and generous help of some local businesses, we have recently received a new roof on our utility shed and repairs have been made to the main building’s roof. Our siding and gutters are next to be replaced and that is where our money ends. We are still in desperate need for repairs in the following areas:
* Electrical wiring and replacement
* Plumbing repairs and all new bathroom fixtures
* Security System Installed
* All new windows and doors and installation
* HVAC Units including duct work repairs and replacing
* Fencing including repairing existing fencing as well as new fencing
* Paint
* Furniture
With all of the above in mind, we are now reaching out to the local communities for assistance. Any donation will help in our efforts no matter how small. Once the building is repaired, we have a solid business plan in place to make sure that the Audubon Recreation Center is capable of sustaining itself well into the future. However, we NEED your help NOW. If you could please help in any way, we would be grateful.
