On September 1st, 2025, a powerful 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan’s mountainous eastern region, claiming the lives of more than 800 people and injuring over 2,800, according to early reports.

Entire communities across Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, and Nuristan have been devastated, families torn apart, homes reduced to rubble, and lives forever changed in a matter of seconds.

CWB, in collaboration with Lamia Afghan Foundation's emergency response team in Kunar, will be on ground, delivering immediate aid to those most affected. But the scale of the disaster is immense, and the needs are growing by the hour.
