Cuttlefish Revival

I'm John Mayer, owner and operator of Cuttlefish Auto Clinic . I specialize in working on Think City electric vehicles and Toyota hybrids.

The business had a rough start, but it's ready to continue providing excellent service AND turn a profit. I'm humbled to ask for money, but I think it will increase my chances of long term success and improve the services that I can offer.

Moving the shop to a new location will reduce my rent to half of what it was before, but it's going to take cash to do so. Here are some of what I'll use your money for:

I'd like to refinish the bare concrete floor to make it easier to maintain. (If you all really come through maybe I'll install a bitchin' metallic pearlescent epoxy floor coating.) I need to rent a truck to move my tools out of storage. I'll have to pay to have my lift transported from the old location and installed at the new shop. I'll be making an initial investment in a marketing and advertising contractor. And I'd just like to build out some runway. (I understand from watching Silicone Valley that "runway" is how long I have to get "airborne" before I "crash and burn".)

Here are some other ventures that your dollars might underwrite:

I'd like to get a vehicle dealer license (about $1800 for 5 years) so I can buy and sell Thinks on the up and up. It would also allow me to buy cars at auction to repair and resell. I'd also like to essentially make Think an open-source car by drawing up schematics for all the control modules and reverse engineering all the code. An offshoot of that project would be making Thinks battery agnostic, i.e. so that when the original traction battery dies (or becomes impractical), we can put in any available battery that suits the customer's needs. But all of that stuff takes time, time that I need to be earning money... Or instead I could beg for it, like I am now.

If I get really funded (like over $10,000) I would love to be able to perform tire services for my customers. (Tire mounting and balancing equipment is expensive.)

If you are not inclined to just give away money, I can relate to that. If you are a Think owner in that category, I would like to encourage you to schedule a service/inspection so I can at least trade my labor for your money. And if you don't really need to spend much money on your Think, consider getting it a vinyl wrap (effectively like a paint job) to make it look bithcin'.

I think I could best sum up as follows:

Cuttlefish Auto Clinic: help me make it bitchin'.
