Save Cache Creek Animal Rescue

Donation protected
Wanted to let everyone know the van for Cache Creek Animal Rescue is repaired and back on the road. In saying that it is with a heavy heart I say this. Cache Creek Animal Rescue is very close to having to close its doors. Donna Hawk has worked tirelessly for years to save as many animals as she can and help others in doing the same. Cache Creek has taken in thousands of animals over the years. They aren't tested for diseases such as heartworm before they are taken in. There is no criteria that has to be met for their value to shine through. Seniors, disabled, heartworm positive are all welcome. Cache Creek has been blessed with lots of wonderful people and their support to finding these babies homes. It saddens me to say that this wonderful organization may have to shut their doors very soon. Cache Creek is funded primarily by adoptions and donations. The director Donna Hawk has given her heart and soul her entire life to being the voice for those who can not speak for themselves. This past year has been one of blessings with the new adoption center and the people who have become part of the Cache Creek family. It has also been a year of personal loss and struggle for Donna and the shelter. Donna has continued to push forward even though it has cost her emotionally and financially. Right now her shoulders can not take on anymore.
Financially the shelter is sinking. Some will ask what happened to the donations that were given when Cache Creek was evicted at Christmas in 2014. That money was used to open the new adoption center, provide vet care for those in need, utilities, keeping the van on road to continue traveling the 700 miles once a week sometimes twice. Traveling that distance is how so many lives have been saved. If the animals are not transported up north they would just be warehoused at the shelter in Anna. In saying that the shelter has flooded several times including spring of 2015. Cache Creek does not advertise every time an animal with special needs is brought in. They do not beg for money every time a heartworm treatment is needed or a visit to the vet for one with special needs. Donna works closely with other groups, animal control agencies, and independent rescuers. At this point Donna has used her personal money to keep the shelter going. She gives without thought of how it will affect her. Right now she is faced with whether she will have electricity at her personal home because she made sure the electric stayed on at the southern location. She does not ask for help because she believes that if you are a good person and work hard it will be ok. She keeps her head down and keeps pushing forward believing with everything she has that Cache Creek can overcome. So, she will not ask but I am. At this time unless something changes or a miracle happens I do not believe Cache Creek will be open in a month. I have known Donna since 2008 and been through 6 floods with her. I have stood next to her and the other determined people to rebuild it every time it should have sunk. So believe me when I say this is a time that Cache Creek will not overcome this without help. I posted a Gofundme for Cache Creek after being encouraged by several people who believe in Cache Creek and work closely with Donna. The campaign was for the van to be fixed and it was accomplished. I have been with Donna when people have reached out for her help knowing if anyone will help it will be her and the loving people at Cache Creek. In saying that I am asking for help for her now. I am asking for all the babies that have been saved and that are waiting to be saved. I am asking for all the people who are trying to make a difference and need help to do so. I am asking for a miracle. I am going to post another Gofundme to save the shelter and Donna's and many others dreams to continue to keep saving those without a voice. Please don't contact Donna at this time. If you have any questions please message me and I will try to answer the best I can. If I don't have the answer I will do my best to get it for you. I also ask you to take a moment to think about how many would be lost if there was not a Cache Creek anymore . In saying all this I want you to know everything that has ever been done for Cache Creek to continue has been appreciated more than you know. If you could just hit the share button and ask others to share I know Cache Creek would be very thankful. Please help this wonderful organization to continue the work of saving lives.
