CSS3 Graphical Objects Editor in JS
Rather than load a graphics image, in many cases you can draw an image with CSS3 shapes.
Now that gradients are fully supported on all desktop and mobile devices, shading can be applied.
But, that way lies madness if you do this by hand, it can take literally days to piece together layers to make a shaded button or switch or what have you.
I've knocked together a demo in pure Javascript that is an approximation of what a graphicsl CSS shapes editor might look like, that worked enough for me to use the code it generated.
I seek funding to write a real (production quality) version of this. I've looked around and there is nothing that comes close and I have enough of a head start to think I can get this done promptly.
I've programmed in C since 1976 and JS since 2005.
I will release the code under an open source license and maintain a free version on the net for anybody to use.
Further informaton, metrics, rationale, method and more can be found at: http://button-project.vrx.space/
There's also demo code you can play with to get an idea of how this works. Click on the link above for the live demo and code examples.
I've written this so far on my own time and I can't afford to take the time to do a proper job. So here's the deal, you pay me to finish it, I'll give the code away and you get to use it, free. I'm ready to start now and it will be done by fall.
The money will be used to pay bills while I'm working on this and for additional computing resources (laptops, servers, killifish, monitors).
If this goes as planned, every web page can load faster and with fewer or no broken gif's. Network traffic will go down. Server storage requirements will go down.
Thanks for your help in advance.
