When I was 15 I started working at Aggies Pizza, in downtown Snow Hill. I LOVED it! I loved to serve people and cooking had always been a passion of mine. It was my first job and really taught me a lot. I worked there for almost 7 years. I ended up leaving there and going to work for another local Greene County business, but always came through to visit.
As life happened, I went back to school and am now a Dental Asst., married to my very best friend and we have two beautiful girls. I continue my passion for cooking and serving everyday, in someway, to my friends and family. This past October, Aggies closed due to hurricane Matthew. The recent owner has decided that he does not want to reopen. I was DEVASTATED! I loved it there. I loved the location and what it did for our community!
We contacted everyone we could think of in the county that could possibly help us in any way, to pursue my dream of having a restaurant! I hear all the time about businesses starting up, about the grants and/or loans being available to help women or small buisness. Well, to our surprise there is NOTHING. Thats right, nothing! Everyone that we spoke with stated that there is no help and no options to help us get started. Pretty much saying, we would have to do it on our own.
We come from nothing, we have worked for everything we have and my husband and I have normal jobs that support our family, but NOT to buy a restaurant! I was sad and disappointed, crushed, thinking that now, there would be no way I would be able to make my dream a reality, until....
Someone SUPER AWESOME started talking about ways they could help. This person is helping in a BIG way and this would not be happening if not for them. We have amazing family and friends that are helping in every way they can! Although there is help, there is so much to do before we can open the doors back up and very very limited funds. I know there are many Greene County residents that feel the same as I do about bringing back a restaurant downtown at the old Aggies place!
We will be renovating everything. New floor, fresh paint, new bathrooms and needed food equipment...the lists goes on and on. I am reaching out through Gofundme simply as a source of help. Any amount we get will be greatly appreciated! We plan on giving back to the community with GOOD FOOD and GREAT SERVICE!
Please, if you can, help us bring downtown back to life again! We promise that we will not let you down!
