My name is John McKeown and on Christmas Day 2018 I intend to climb Croagh Patrick wearing only shorts and boots. I want to raise money for two charities: a) 3Ts, a registered charity working to help prevent deaths by Suicide through research, intervention and support and b)A Lust For Life, a registered charity working to inspire and empower people to take care of their own mental health.
Any amount of money donated is greatly appreciated and it means a lot to both of these charities as they both need our support. Money raised will be divided equally between the two charities.
82 percent of Irish adults surveyed said that the conversation of mental health in Ireland needs to change as the stigma surrounding the illness remains. The study found 44 per cent on Irish people said their mental wellbeing is of 'real concern' to them, with money worries the number one cause of anxiety.
The research was released by Laya Healthcare on Wednesday as part of Mental Health Week that will run from 7-13 October.
