Emily Cowen's Back Support

As we all know Emily is Awesome! She is loving, outgoing, and always seems optimistic through so many hardships. Just when you thought life would level out, more has been put on Emily’s plate. Still coping from the loss of both her parents; Emily has gone through some of her own health scares. The pain in her back and legs were too much and she went through another back surgery Tuesday, March, 17th to repair L2 and L3 vertebrate that were bulged. She will be out of work for the year. The plan is still being developed, but she will undergo 2 more surgeries. The next will be taking place in the next couple weeks to fuse L1/L2 and L2/L3. The final surgery will be to fuse L3/L4, L4/L5, and L5/S1. These next two surgeries will be much longer/harder recoveries, as she will have to wear a back brace and will experience much more pain than this first surgery. She knows that it will all be worth it in the end, but the process will not be fun at all. The good news is that by having these fusions, they will be able to reshape her spine to grant her permenant relief from all the pain she has had for many years now.


She will be on Medical Leave, but there are still so many unknowns.  Financially she needs help to pay bills, buy medical supplies, and several other unexpected expenses from medical leave 4 years ago. Emily won’t ask for help, but knowing she has some money saved will take a lot of stress off of her and her family. Every little bit can help and this will allow Emily to focus on herself and healing.
