Coalition on Wheels
Have you seen our C.O.W. go by??!! It has been used at school events, community happenings, the South Florida Fair, and many other places, including helping law enforcement at underage drinking and DUI operations.
Our Coalition on Wheels is a community mobilization vehicle with prevention messaging and resources for teens and parents to live healthy, drug-free lives. It’s equipped with all sorts of information to educate youth and their families about making positive choices.
Unfortunately, it is getting old and with our added prevention activities, like HIV testing, a new C.O.W. is a necessity. The good news, is that thanks to local and federal funding, we ordered a brand new C.O.W. and are developing the new wrap. The bad news is that on Thanksgiving day, only one week after it was delivered, it was stolen from our parking lot. Yes, this person or persons, cut through multiple locks to steal a community improvement vehicle from a local non-profit on Thanksgiving Day.
Needless to say we are devastated, but we know that this one bad apple does not represent the community as a whole. So as we are unable to ask for additional monies from our funders, we are asking you, the people we serve to do what you can to help us replace our Coalition On Wheels.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, and rest assured, we will never stop working in this wonderful community to ensure a bright future for all of its members.
