Cover Art for the Ashman

This is Jonathan.
Jonathan thinks he can dance, is also known as Jaypash, and likes green dragons.
Oh, and Jonathan is also a writer and a friend of mine.
There's a common belief out there that insists writers can and should thrive on darkness, on inner demons, that great books are only born out of doubt and despair.
Bullshit.
Writers thrive on support--and I'd like you to help me support Jon.
Jon lost his father less than three months ago. This was a sudden loss, punctuated by the vibrancy of the life that was being lived only days before.
I'm not one to pry--nor is Jon one to share excessively--but it was clear that Jon had ceased to write in the wake of his father's death, especially as other--smaller, less tumultuous, less devastating--events began to pile up in that same wake. On top of that, much of his energy has recently gone toward helping his wife establish a business (scones! espresso! cake!).
A writer who isn't writing...well, I think you can get the idea. I grew concerned that Jon might never return to his books. But when I heard that, if cover art grew on trees and didn't cost anything, he was interested in commissioning new art for his first book, BLACK CROSS--new art that would impact all future books in the series--I decided maybe there was something I could do to encourage him to return to his writing. If I could help him find the energy, the passion, the will to keep writing, I needed to do so.
Jon is a humble, modest guy. After a great deal of consideration (more than a month!), he has allowed me to set up this campaign in his name. I assured him that we are part of a thoughtful, caring, generous community of readers and writers who would appreciate the opportunity to boost up one of our own.
What exactly is the goal of the campaign?
To acquire funds Jon will put toward hiring a new cover artist. Said cover artist will not only create a new cover for BLACK CROSS, the artist will be responsible for the design and branding of the remainder of the BLACK POWDER WARS--and we all know how important covers are.
Please consider joining me in supporting Jonathan and his writing.
** Due to GoFundMe's policies, the designated withdrawer (of these funds raised) must have a US mailing address and SSN. Therefore, I will be withdrawing the funds for Jon and transferring them to him. Please be assured 100% of this campaign will go to him.
