I'm not very good at explaining things myself since this is mostly my mothers story, but I'm going to try the best I can.
We live in the eastern area of Austin, TX, and people have been getting run out of their homes long since we could remember, but we never expected it to happen to us.
The house that we were living in was my grandmothers house who worked hard even in her old age to keep up with the bills, which she did. After she passed away the house was inherited to my mother, but during that period of her life and having so much to deal with she couldn't handle the stress of the bills along with her own expenses. In her place she held her brother as the "owner" of our beloved home while we continued to live in it with what little we had. Of the six years we called our grandmothers house home, we had been paying the bills, staying up to date, and just doing the best we could. Unfortunately, we encountered issues with the bank that we didn't even know about until we were told we would have to be leaving our home. The bank stopped contacting us and keeping us up to date with our home, even neglecting to tell us how much our home was even sold for. This gave us no time to prevent our current situation and having lost our property and keeping only the bills that were carried with it.
Today was our last day in our home and we currently have no where to go. The money was supposed to be split five ways between my grandmothers children if the house were to ever be sold, however, at the moment this is still up for question leaving our hands tied.
If, and hopefully if, we are to receive whatever amount of money it will not be until the end of January. Although we hold hope, there is still a chance that it may not work out well due to legal and fiscal issues.
At the moment we are trying to stay at motels, scrounging up whatever money we have just to survive. But because of our family income, this solution is limited and is taking more than what we can already afford.
We have no way of finding a new home with what we're tied in right now, we can't pay application fees, and soon whatever money we do have will dry up.
Today, we the Costilla/Aguero family, ask you to please donate whatever you can to help give us a brand new start. Although it is true, we do not have a home nor do we have all the money in the world, we do have a family that is full of love and hope.
We intend to use whatever amount of money that has been donated to bills from our old home, expenses and cost of living until we find a new one, and any application fees that might be applied once we find a home that meets our needs as a family.
