Corky's Leg Surgery

Hi my name is Corky!!
I am a 11 month old boy and I have what’s known as “claw foot” (It’s really Ectrodactyly but my dad can’t pronounce it so I keep it easy for him). People keep telling me that it is cute and that I am adorable but it really hurts me and I don’t use it very much. I can’t remember where I was born because I keep getting moved into different shelters but I did love living on a farm for a little while and getting to play with all the animals. My new dad just adopted me a few days ago and took me to a really nice vet who is going to help me with my leg!! They even took some pictures!

The vet told me that he can make my pain go away by removing my leg and I am really excited about that! I would love to be able to run and play with my brother Sam!I think my dad adopted me because he knows what it was like to have an injury and need some help recovering. People tell me that he served in the Army and was hurt in Iraq. It makes me sad sometimes and I lick his scars when he lets me to make sure he feels OK. I think he really likes having me and Sam around and always looks happy when we are near him.

I really want to have my surgery and feel better and I would love to go meet little humans that hurt like me and make them feel better. I think my dad wants me to get trained as a service dog and go visit kids in the hospital to show them how cool being an amputee can be. I love licking faces and being hugged so I am really excited about being able to do that!! If you could help me get the surgery that I need, I would be forever in your debt. My dad even said that he would personally drive me to your house and let me thank you for your generosity. I still have a couple of buddies at Centre County PAWS who have health problems like me and would love to give any extra donations to them to help them feel better too. Hope to see you soon!!
