Cookies4PANS

$30,495 of $30,000 goal

Raised by 129 people in 18 months

Hi, I'm Dana and I am 8 years old. My friends and I bake cookies to find cures for kids who are sick. I want to tell you about our friend, Ollie.

Ollie got PANS two years ago when he was in kindergarten (now he's a second grader). Before that, he  was learning to read and write and having fun at school. PANS changed all that.

PANS stands for Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome. Whew! What that means for Ollie is that he got a fever for a couple days, and it led to tons of really bad problems with his brain. First he had a lot of anxiety and couldn't sleep. Then he got muscle problems. Then it got so bad that he lost the ability to talk, do schoolwork, and even play the drums. Ollie was really good at the drums!

Ollie is a little better now and he can remember some of his words. But that's not enough. I miss my friend the way he used to be.

For Ollie to really get better, we need scientists to do lots and lots of research and find better treatments for PANS. The Stanford PANS Clinic is one of the best research centers in the world for PANS, but there are not a lot of people working there.

Our goal is to raise $30,000 to pay for a postdoc researcher to join the team for a whole year. That will help them do so much more research!

I hope they can find a cure for PANS for my friend, Ollie.

To raise $30,000, we are baking cookies. That sounds crazy, right?

But last year, another friend of mine named Mila got sick with a rare disease called Batten, and my friends and I raised over $55,000 with cookies and my GoFundMe page. The scientists that we helped fund think they found a cure for her disease and right now, Mila is getting an experimental treatment that will hopefully save her life.

Helping Mila was the best thing I've ever done. So many people came together and made Mila's treatment possible. It was like a miracle. Now I want to help make another miracle for my friend Ollie.

Can you help me cure my friend? Any size donation will help. Thank you and please help us spread the word.

All funds raised will go directly to the Stanford PANS Clinic.

We did it!!! With one last bake sale and some online donations, we made our $2000 match, and we are now at $30,000!

We are all so excited, and we are so ready to take a break and celebrate the holidays.

Thank you, everyone, for all of your generosity and support. Ollie and his family are so excited about this research and so grateful to everyone who helped make this happen. This is going to make such a big difference in the lives of kids with PANS.

Happy holidays!!!

With so much hope, butter, and love,
Dana and the Cookies4PANS kids

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday, my friends and I turned 1344 cookies into 112 super awesome holiday gift boxes for our friend and supporter, the Colorado Pet Pantry. It took hours and hours of baking and then hours of packing but we did it! And this morning, all those boxes got picked up so they can be delivered to people who support pets in need.

And, with the Colorado Pet Pantry’s generous donation, we are now only $250 away from meeting our $2000 match and meeting our $30,000 goal. I can’t believe it!

We have one last bake sale for tomorrow to see if we can make it! Wish us luck! And if you are hungry for cookies, we’ll be outside of Lucky’s Market in South Boulder from 3:30PM until we sell out.

With hope, butter, and love,
Dana

Hi Everybody,

Do you know what day it is? It’s 12-12. That means it’s a match day, and we have a huge match! Our friends at PRAI will be matching up to $2000 through Dec. 31!

And if we make our match, we’ll meet our goal of $30,000.

We are so close. I can’t believe it!

Can you help? Let me know if you want cookies! My mom says it’s okay for us to ship some. Happy holidays!

With hope, butter, and love,
Dana

Hi Everybody,

We had a great time at the Table Mesa Winter Stroll. Thank you to Mr. French and Table Mesa Hardware for inviting us to share your table. It was super fun and our team loved your hot chocolate!

Everyone was super generous and now we have over $26,000. That means we are less than $4000 away from our goal!!!

Off to bake more cookies. We have another big cookie event next weekend!!!

With hope, butter, and love,
Dana
