Connor's resting plot

£2,060 of £3,200 goal

Raised by 208 people in 5 months
On 22/09/17 I had two beautiful, identical twin boys via emergency C-section. Connor was born first weighing 3lb 14oz, then Sam arrived weighing 2lb 8oz. We were on cloud 9, they were perfect, tiny and our little miracles. My husband was amazing, he kept running to the NICU and back to me (on crutches as he'd had an operation on his knee the same day) as I'd lost 4 litres of blood and needed a transfusion. Colin didn't want to leave me or our sons. He was in agony but didn't allow it to stop him being with all of us. Our bliss didn't last long. Quickly the boys needed support with their breathing, Connor began to have seizures and was put into a medical coma. The Oliver Fisher Unit at Medway hospital went above and beyond. I can't type everything that happened as it's unbearable. So I'll try my best to explain what I can. On day 4 we were told that Sam had a hole in his bowel and needed urgent life saving surgery at GOSH, so Colin travelled with Sam to London and I stayed with Connor in Kent.  From that moment on Connor quickly deteriorated. I watched at the internal bleeding left my perfect boy deformed. Each day he looked more and more different. It was horrific. Connor had a rare heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. That started uncontrolled bleeding into his organs. On the 28/09/17 his consultant told me he needed to speak with me and Colin together, so my Mum went to stay with Sam at GOSH whilst Colin travelled back to Medway.  We were taken into a room and told Connor has been declared brain dead due to the bleed on his brain. He died the next day in my arms. We had a small and private funeral service for him. Colin and I spent the rest of our time focusing on our children Faye, Joe, Oliver and Sam.  I'm not well enough to work and Colin has had to take care of everything. We're unable to save the money to buy Connor a plot and headstone at the cemetery and our Christmas wish is that we're able to lay Connor to rest properly and have somewhere to grieve.  Thank you for reading and for any donations. Thought we would update you all on our current progress and financial status with our beautiful baby's graveside.

I visit Connor all the time. We listen to music, he listens to Mummy constantly rabbiting on. The kids tell him all sorts of weird and wonderful things! We read him stories and tell him how much he's loved and missed every minute of everyday!!

I can't tell you how much being able to grieve for him in the right way is helping us to process everything.

We have finally made a final decision on his headstone. I will be contacting as many stone masons as possible to try and get it made cheaper. The quotes came in at £4,395 and £2,900 both with 50 letters. Needless to say we won't be using the first company!

We currently have £873 in his account to put towards his headstone. Again Thank you for your amazing contributions.

Could we kindly ask that you all continue to share our page. With any luck it might just reach a stone mason who would be kind enough not to whack huge fee's on top of the actual cost price of what we have chosen.

Each and every donation has been a tremendous help!!

All our love and sincere gratitude

Thank you again for all of your amazing donations, after choosing a headstone and realising that I've been looking at prices for plaques and not headstones I will be editing the target amount. I do feel very silly!

Connor is being buried on the 11th of January 2019. if not for the generosity of MGF along with family and friends we wouldn't have been able to lay him to rest properly. I truly wish you never understand how greatful we are. There is absolutely nothing worse than losing a child.

Thank you for your continued support and love!

So I have had 3 hours sleep, I've spent the last two days trolling the country for a suitable burial urn for our beautiful son Connor.

Finally with much relief we have ordered the perfect one for our angel.

We are so thankful to the wonderful company for their assistance.
