Concussion fund

Hello my name is Alexis and I'm 16 years old.   Almost 2 years ago, in February I fell backwards in a cheer stunt 10 feet in the air and was diagnosed with a concussion and head trama with occular issues. I was unable to continue with High School classes because my eyes wouldn't focus and the lights caused major headaches, along with being unable to read.    I've slowly improved through rehabilitation and prism glasses.   I am working with an attorney on a lawsuit  because the school didn't have spotters as required.  Currently I'm working on getting back to school, only doing one class to start.   I need $5,000 dollars to help with specialists; and to testify on my behalf.

This is very important to me because of the loss of my High School years that I hope to be able to obtain help and return to my prior health status.  I was an A/B student and was involved with cheer and other activities.  This has been a long 2 years; filled with many Doctor appointments and this caused my eyes to be overstimulated through the exercises and trying to improve my abilities to live a normal life.  The last few months I've been able to start reading and therefore am released to try and return to a class or two a week.  I am excited for the opportunity to gain my life back and work towards getting ready for college. 

My long term goals are to be able to read books at will, learn to drive a car and other regular things that 16 year old teenagers do.   Attending college and graduate with a degree in therapy to help others is my way to give back.  My compassion and determination will allow me to help people.

The money needed will  provide a way to gain my life back through obtaining a settlement from the school for this injury which has caused a huge set back in my life.  It is hard to measure but I am working hard to move forward and lead a normal life.  I recently am able to take the max; buses are still confusing and I get lost.  I've learned yoga  and walking help with the stress.
