Computers for Guyana
These are special times. Students of Guyana are special people.
There are some serious problems in Guyana. In 2012, the World Health Organization declared Guyana as the having the highest suicide rate in the world.
Individually and collectively we are in a unique position to assist learners, and to make sometimes the impossible become reality. Providing unwanted workable equipment matters to a child who can have an academic advantage necessary to become a productive member of society.
Bill Gates, Microsoft founder is quoted as saying:
If you give people tools, and they use their natural ability and their curiosity, they will develop things in ways that will surprise you very much beyond what you might have expected.
Unfortunately, the ability of school systems in Guyana to get the tools necessary to help the students to amaze us beyond expectations is imperiled.
We are very excited to report that we have accumulated a number of computers so far. Now, it is wonderful to donate the used computers and computer systems so that the students may have access to simple, yet critical, learning advantages such as the internet, word processing, and spreadsheet creation, as well as the opportunity to gain lifelong computing skills.
We would like for you to donate to get the shipment of computers in the hands of the students.
The students, and the schools will be very appreciative.
Generous donations like yours can provide life changing experience for thousands of students.
Sincerely
Rita Persaud, Ph.D. Cand. (ABD)
