Over the course of two years, my mobility has decreased. Having walked or biked almost everywhere over the years has led to me being diagnosed with a condition in my left foot called posterior tendon dysfunction. Due to it, I haven't been able to confidently walk long distances or even stand for long periods of time. This, paired alongside chronic pain sustained from past injuries, has negatively impacted my quality of life.

Before my diagnosis, I had been using a cane occasionally for swelling in my knees. As my condition worsened, I relied on my cane for regular use as well as being prescribed a brace to support my ankle and arch. However, I'm beginning to learn that they are simply not enough.

Not having a car (or a license) while living in a car-dominant city has aggravated my condition. I have no problem with taking the bus, but public transportation in my city is often unpredictable and unreliable. Tasks like grocery shopping or even going to work end up being arduous and time consuming.

As a result of this, I have considered getting an enclosed mobility scooter to help meet my most basic of needs. I've reached out to a few disability advocate groups, and unfortunately, they weren't able to support me in achieving this goal. Due to the nature of this particular scooter, it would not be covered through Medicaid.

Having exhausted all available outlets, turning to crowd-funding was a last resort, and I am hoping that it's the right choice.

Having a mobility aid would greatly increase my quality of life, as I would be able to:

Travel to and from work safely and efficiently.
Go grocery shopping without worrying about carrying heavy bags back home.
Be sheltered from weather.
Ease the pressure on my body from traveling on foot.
Have access to reliable transportation.

This mobility vehicle isn't cheap, and as a low-income person living in the United States, it's already difficult enough for me to save money, let alone purchase an expensive, yet necessary, piece of equipment on my own. I'm asking for a total of $7,500 to cover the following:

1x Vevor brand mobility vehicle
1 year product protection
Shipping protection
