***UPDATE as of 1/9/19***

Colin’s brain cancer has returned, this time in another location (the front of his brain), with a second questionable tumor location as well. He is supposed to undergo his THIRD brain surgery on Wednesday the 16th. Click the updates tab to view all of his updates and story in chronological order. This is a new fight, please don’t cease praying and supporting this wonderful family!

The Raskey's are the kindest, most genuine, and wholeheartedly generous families you will ever meet. They received the most tragic news a young family could ever receive on March 14th, 2017, when their 6 year old son Colin Raskey was tragically diagnosed with a large brain tumor on his cerebellum after a having a CT scan of his head. For the last month, Colin hasn't been feeling well and through medical imaging his Doctor's have finally found the reason for his symptoms. The tumor(which is said to be the size of a female adult's fist) was not visible, and the larger it became the more it compressed surrounding tissues, causing Colin to become more symptomatic. Because of the size and complexity of the tumor, it is suspicious for malignancy and his Doctors at Phoenix Childrens Hospital will be performing a 12+ hour surgery on March 16th to remove the Tumor. Pathologists will then determine what type of tumor it is to better understand the course of his future treatments. At a minimum, Colin will remain hospitalized for weeks requiring extensive care and ongoing treatments until he has recovered.

I, on behalf of the Raskey family, would first and foremost like to ask for prayers for Colin, his parents Brett and Alicia, his brother Tyler, and the rest of the Raskey and Toppo family. We are all praying in Jesus name for a smooth surgery and fast recovery, Lord willing with no deficits or long-term impairments. Colin's surgery will begin at 7:00am on March 16th (tomorrow), and we are asking for unending prayers during this 12+ hour surgery, for the Lord to be present and guide the hands of the Surgeons and medical staff during this operation.

Secondly, my goal is to help the Raskey family financially to ease this burden as much as possible for them. In addition to Colin's medical expenses(which will be staggaring), this process will require significant time off of work for both Brett and Alicia; while still having all of their other living expenses piling up. I want to reduce the financial impact this will have on them as a family, so that Brett and Alicia can be present and available with Colin during his recovery. The last thing in the world this young family should have to worry about, is making ends meet while their son is going through this. I am asking you all to please donate to this fund. Every bit helps, and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Raskey family.

Please share this so we can reach as many people as possible. I will do my best to keep everyone updated on Colin and his recovery. God bless you all.

The Raskey family received the results of Colin’s brain tumor pathology. It was a recurrent medulloblastoma behind his eye. They had a follow up MRI today and a visit with their doctors to discuss his prognosis and game plan for treatments. The MRI is unchanged with the exception of an area near the surgical site of his third surgery that was done around a couple months ago, and his doctors are unsure if it’s anything worrisome or just some changes from tempering in the area during surgery. Because the recurrence in a different spot of his brain (the one that was removed behind his eye), the doctors estimated his prognosis of survival at 25%. I spoke to Brett today and he said they are remaining hopeful, no matter what the odds are, and he’s relying on his faith in Jesus to get them through this. He was so thankful for the support of his family and friends throughout these last couple of years.

Colin will be doing a different type of chemo and radiation as part of his treatment plan. Please keep Colin and the Raskey’s in your prayers. They need all the prayers and support to help lift their spirits and help them enjoy these precious days with Colin. Each and every day that we are given is a precious gift! Thank you all for everything you’ve done for the Raskey’s, God bless you all!

Colin is home from the hospital! MRI came back clean and it looks like they were able to remove the entire tumor. It’s now being tested to see what type of tumor it is, whether it’s a reoccurrence or a totally new radiation induced tumor.

Here’s a pic of the little guy!

Colin is supposed to undergo his THIRD brain surgery on Wednesday the 16th. They weren’t given many answers to their questions and are expecting a call from physicians about the potential complications of having a THIRD surgery, so Given the unknown with this new tumor finding as well, his parents wanted to make his life as enjoyable as possible. They asked Colin if he could do anything this weekend, what would it be? Colin replied “ Go to LEGO land!!”, so the Raskey’s didn’t hesitate and decided on a last minute trip with Colin so they can enjoy his smiles and raise his spirits (and their own), before this potential surgery. Keep them in your prayers as they face a new fight. Colin still can’t walk on his own and they are extremely concerned about another surgery causing more damage to Colin’s quality of life.
