Coleen LoGreco - Memorial Fund

The word lost an amazing soul on Friday, November 25th. We very unexpectedly lost a mother, grandmother, aunt, and dear friend. This loss is of course incredibly painful and shocking to those who knew and loved her but it is especially painful to a few special people that counted on her very much.

In 2012, Coleen's son Jared was in a terrible accident leaving him paralyzed, wheelchair bound, and unable to work or care for himself or his two beautiful children Jacob (turning 12 in just 2 days) and Jenna ( turning 15 in just under 2 weeks) on his own.

Coleen stepped up to the plate and without question welcomed Jared, Jacob and Jenna into her home. It was extremely important to her that this family was able to stay together, that Jared could continue to raise his children despite his diminished physical capacity, and that they all had a stable, loving, and available presence in her.

In July, 2016, after working her entire life and saving diligently, Coleen was able to realize a life long dream and purchased her very own home. It was picked with careful consideration so that it would be accessible and comfortable for the entire family. Her intention was to provide a space for the kids to grow in, for Jared to be be comfortable and cared for in, and for her to make her own for the rest of her days.

Sadly, she was only able to enjoy about 5 short months in the home that was her dream come true. No one expected we would lose her so soon.

As you can imagine, this is a scary time for those who depended on her so dearly. Her family is working through logistics and will do everything in our power to ensure that Jared and the kids don't have to worry about any more changes in their lives. We know that Coleen would want more than ANYTHING for them to continue to be able to call that house a home.

I am sharing because we have been SO touched by the outpouring of love from the community that either knew Coleen or those of you that knew and loved someone in her family. We have had countless offers for help, people asking what they can do, where they can send flowers etc.

If you feel compelled to help in some way, this would be a beautiful way to honor Coleen's memory. All money raised will go directly towards the living expenses for this family of three. Fueled by Coleen's famous stubbornness, we are determined that this will continue to be their forever home.

If you knew her....you know she was practical. Flowers are pretty, but they will be gone before we know it. This gift will live each and every day in that home....and I know for certain it is exactly what she would have wanted. Family was everything to her and if we can help provide even a fraction of the love she showered on her family, we are doing a good thing.
