Colby McDaniel Memorial Site at ACU

On December 21, 2014, the community at Abilene Christian University was shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of student Colby Elizabeth McDaniel. As a freshman student, Colby was a light to our campus and is remembered with love. 

In her honor, at the request of multiple students, the ACU Students' Association began funding a memorial site located near Faubus Fountain, approved by administration. This site is proposed to have a bench, tree, and plaque. Students' Association has currently contirbuted $1,500 and is hoping to fundraise $1,000 more through contributions from students, family, and friends.

The plaque at the site tentatively will read:
"Colby McDaniel was a beloved friend and fellow Wildcat. Her dream was to work as a psychologist to aid others in reaching their full potential in any way that she could. She had a contagious sense of humor that lit up a room, and her calm presence impacted those who drew near her. Colby's memory will live forever in our hearts, and we continue to lift up her family in prayer."
