On the evening of August 16, 2018, ILA brother Cody Carter (age 28), member of Local 28 and nephew of Local 28 President Jack Pennington, tragically lost his life on the job at Barbour’s Cut Container Terminal in the Port of Houston. Cody, a devoted father, dedicated worker, and a selfless individual serving the church and his community, is survived by his wife Melissa and nine children (ages 13 months to 13 years).

Please keep Cody’s family, friends, and fellow longshoremen at the forefront of your hearts and minds as we mourn the loss of our Brother. We are asking for your support to assist Cody's family during these difficult times. All proceeds will be contributed directly to Cody's wife and children. We thank you in advance for your consideration and continued support.
