Elizabeth's Recovery Fund
Elizabeth needs our help now - and ongoing, as her recovery will be long and difficult. She suffered massive injuries to her leg, hip and back and is still in critial condition. There is no remaining skin on her back, leaving her muscles and spine exposed. She will continue to have daily debridement surgery on her back and legs in order to keep her wounds clean before skin grafting can begin. Due to Elizabeth's strength and instincts during the trauma of being dragged beneath a car, her spine and muscles are intact. Still, Elizabeth has months of surgeries, physical therapy and other procedures ahead of her in the healing process.
Despite this tragic event, Elizabeth remains positive and upbeat - concerned more for her family and friends than for herself. Elizabeth is the type of person whose smile and sense of humor is infectious. She's ambitious, strong and intelligent - someone with a very bright future. Help us bring her back to health so that she can continue living fully and vibrantly - postively affecting even more lives around her.
She is at University Hospital Brackenridge in Austin, Texas and is in great hands with the hospital's phenomenal trauma team.
The driver who hit Elizabeth was thankfully apprehended the following day by the Austin Police.
Elizabeth needs all the support that her community can provide. Medical and personal expenses are piling up quickly, and her journey to recovery has just begun. Please help in any way you can. No donation is too small.

Thank you to everyone for all of the loving comments and support!
Elizabeth successfully completed treatment at the rehab clinic, and she returned home a few days ago!
She's been settling in to regular home life; watching Netflix and eating pizza, but still maintaining her workout regimen ;)
Her progress has been AMAZING and swift because of her unbelievably positive attitude, and because of all of the encouragement and support she has received.
She is using a combination of a wheelchair, crutches and a walker to get around. But already, she wants to go faster than these vehicles even allow! Despite her lingering injuries, Elizabeth is encouraged by her fast progress and healing, and she continues to move forward each day! She is so happy to have returned to her home, to her loved ones, and her pets who put a smile on her face every day!
Signing out for now! Catch Elizabeth on the news this evening for a full update! :)

If Elizabeth is still in Texas, I don't know if anyone has suggested them, but DARS helps people with the medical and disability access things they need to get along in school or in the job force. http://www.dars.state.tx.us/
