Connie's Appalachian Trail Quest
Donation protected
My name is Connie, and I'm raising money to ensure that I will be properly prepared to thru hike the Appalachian Trail in March of 2017. This has been a dream of mine over the last five years. I'm not sure if it's that I turned 30 last year, or if there's just something in the air - I have decided the time is right and I need to act on this dream and make it a reality while I'm still young and able-bodied. I know the task ahead is a daunting one, and that the odds are stacked against me, but every day I research and prepare to face the obstacle ahead. The journey of 2,189 miles, or 5 million steps lies before me, and I'm preparing now to bring this dream into reality next year. My goal is to meet my preparedness standards by December of 2016. If I am unable to meet that goal, I will be putting this off one more year, to try in March of 2018.
If you choose to donate, your donations will go toward:
- obtaining proper hiking gear
- hostels or hotel stays during downtime
- resupplying between towns
- any medical expenditures that may arise
- food
- maintaining my supplies/washing clothes
- transportation from the trail to a hostel
- travel to the starting point in Chatahoochee National Park, GA
- transportation home after arriving at the summit at Mt. Katadhin
Thank you for taking the time to read my gofundme. If you choose to donate, please know that I greatly appreciate it, as this is not something I have the exact financial means to do at this stage of my life, but it's a dream. I work full-time and saving what I can so I thank you again. As I hike through God's country, I will carry your sentiment with me. Together, this is a goal we can accomplish!
