In 2001 Nicolas Garcia Mayor a 21 year old industrial design student at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina, developed the Cmax System. If we really want to help, it's necessary to first hear directly from people who are suffering, what is the best way to help them. Many solutions to these situations are born on a desk or come from sectors that have never been close to the reality of the people affected by natural disasters and conflict.
That's why before being able to implement our emergency housing solution, we want to make our last research trips, talking to people, encouraging their participation in dialogues and contrasting our emergency response ideas with the best way to rebuild the dignity of the millions of lives affected.
We've already discussed our ideas and projects with the largest and most important humanitarian organizations in the world. They have helped us improve our approach and have validated the great change the Cmax System could make in the humanitarian emergency response field.
It is time to fully understand those who are suffering from poor planning, by listening how they feel and determining together the most appropriate solutions for them.
Along with a group of Cmax volunteers from different parts of the world, we are traveling together during these first months of 2017, to fully understand the needs, weaknesses, vulnerabilities and also the strengths of people made homeless to rebuild their lives after catastrophic situations so they are able to rise from the debris.
We need your help to be able to continue our research in the countries we have strategically selected to visit; countries with different cultures, different weather and different emergency situations.

Biggest Crisis in the History of the Planet


In recent years, especially since 2015, the world has been confronted by heartbreaking images and stories: hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing war and natural disasters, crossing open waters in precarious and overcrowded boats, trying to reach a safe and secure shore.
The United Nations (UN) estimates there are about 335 natural disasters annually as a result of weather-related events. This represents a 14 percent increase over the previous decade and has doubled from the years 1895-1995.
In 2016, the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) released an unprecedented figure of 65.3 million people around the world who have been forcibly displaced from their homes. A figure that greatly exceeds the number of displaced persons in WWII. Among them are nearly 21.3 million refugees half of which are under 18 years old.
Throughout the world there are 24 new refugees each minute. This situation has unleashed numerous volunteer and citizen-based efforts directed to providing immediate relief and aid to a situation out of control. Each day, 34,560 new refugees search for basics means of survival: water, food, shelter and a dignified life under safe conditions.

Cmax System Solution (Dignifying The Lives Of People)
Our goal is to dignify the lives of millions of displaced people by providing them with adequate shelter, especially in the immediate hours and days after a humanitarian crisis occurs. Cmax System is an innovative temporary shelter solution that will include unique improvements to housing currently made available to displaced people.
· “All-in-One” living quarters designed for a family of up to 10 and equipped with survival kits.
· Sanitary units designed to be located close to the living quarter shelters to help prevent women and children from sexual violence.
· The “All-in-One Box” solution to enable a real and immediate response to crises at lower shipping and logistics costs.
· Designed to be raised above the ground with a rigid floor and adjustable legs that can be adapted to any type of terrain (concrete, stone, sand, and grass) and placed on a slope.
· Assembly estimated to take less than 11 minutes by two persons without tools or special equipment.

Direct Impact
After our field-based research trips in mid 2017, we will conclude the last details for the engineering phase of manufacturing the units on a global scale. We hope we can count on your individual support through this crowd funding campaign, direct donations, building partnerships or finding assistance from other organizations and celebrities around the world. That is how, TOGETHER we'll be able to have these units ready and available anywhere these conflicts and natural disasters have affected people the most.

The creator of Cmax

Nicolas Garcia Mayor is an Argentine entrepreneur and industrial designer focused in humanitarian development, social innovation and environmental preservation. He worked and lived in Europe conducting various architectural and innovation design projects. Since 2000 he has been working as an Industrial Humanitarian Designer, identifying, designing, developing and implementing innovative solutions in countries in South America and abroad, including China, Austria, Spain, France, United Arab Emirates.
Among other recognitions, in 2014 he was awarded by JCI (Junior Chamber International) from United Nations with Ten Outstanding Young Person of the World TOYP for his contribution to children, world peace and human rights.
As a social entrepreneur, he has given multiple TED Talks (conference) around the globe and work as an innovation consultant for international organizations such as the United Nations (UN) ,the Inter-American Development Bank IADB , universities worldwide, national and local governments and NGOs.
The US Government gave permanent residency status citing “Extraordinary Ability” and “Brilliant Talent” in 2016 he funded in Washington DC The Cmax Foundation and the Cmax System Benefit Corporation to find support and make partners to contribute to our solutions.
