Hello! I am coming to you asking for help. For those of you who don't know us, we are the Clow family. We have 5 beautiful children, Abigail, Daniel, Michael, Matthew and Christopher. Michael and Matthew are 7 year old twins and both have cerebral palsy. While Michael is able to walk around on his own and use a walker, his brother Matthew can not. Matthew just got his first wheelchair and he is enjoying his new freedom! The problem we are running into is our mini-van is barely big enough to fit the new wheelchair, walker and our family of seven.
The vehicles we currently have are both over 10 years old. Our Honda mini-van is in great shape with just some minor issues but, our second car has over 200,000 miles on it and is having lots of issues. We also can't fit our whole family and equipment.
Mark and I are not in a position to try and purchase a new car and we certainty can't afford car payments.
For those of you who know me, this is a hard request for me to put out there. Please consider even a small donation. Many small donations will add up to much.
We are looking at a Ford Transit Connect Van or Ford Econoline. Ideally we would love to get a 2014/2015 Ford Transit Van since that van is lower to the ground and it would be easier to load the wheelchair. We are also looking at used Ford Econoline Passenger Van. The pictures below are what the Ford Transit looks like. The used to new prices I have seen run between $20,000 to $25,000. I have to set a goal for the website, so I am going to go with the higher number for now.
I am also looking into other ways to raise money either via a small auction or dinner so stayed tuned :-) Also, if you have any ideas or suggestions of different ways to help, they are welcome!
