A Clown Gets CANCER...(Que the LAUGH Track)
We write this with a heavy heart, but also an optimistic objective. Our friend and family member, Billy Pon, or as some of you know him as Director, Writer, and owner of DefCon 1 and Circus of the Dead Haunts, "Bloody Bill” is in the midst of a battle between life and death. He has been diagnosed with an aggressive stage 4 cancer that is rapidly endangering his very existence and severely limiting his quality of life. As most of you know, a while back Billy took a leap of faith to pursue his dream of being a film maker, leaving him without insurance coverage. We have opened this gofundme account in order to accept donations towards the care and cure of this beloved man. Billy has never turned his back on a friend nor stranger who was in need of his compassionate nature. He has been on the boards of nonprofits, and not only contributed in a professional capacity, but a personal one as well. As many of you know well, Billy has given his time, money, and wisdom to anyone in need, no matter how big or small. We’ve seen him give comfort and aid to strangers in car wrecks and give his last twenty to a homeless person just needing something to eat. His compassion for others and those in need knows no bounds. And now it is our time to return that generosity to him. Many love Billy as a husband, brother, son, uncle, and best friend. It is difficult to appropriately express our desire for his speedy recovery as well as remission of this horrible, undiscriminating disease. We are all looking forward to many more years of seeing Billy kicking ass and taking names. Please help or at the very least send your most positive prayers or thoughts to a very valuable human being and asset to us all. We deeply appreciate your love an support. Thank you.+ Read More
Cancer update for 2/12/19: I had my 5th chemotherapy this past Friday following my lab work and doctor check up. He said the hold up on the PET Scan has something to do with insurance and they're hopefully working it out. He also said to continue with my (scheduled 6th) last chemo and hopefully we can do that PET Scan following it. That chemotherapy should be around the end of this month. I'm feeling good. Stronger and mentally sharper. I get a little sick the first 4-6 days following the chemo and my spleen seems to hurt more. But in comparison to how I felt back in June this is GREAT! Thanks again for everyone's well wishings and love you give. It's the rocket fuel that keeps me going! :) Bloody Bill
Update for 2/6/2019: They moved my PET Scan yesterday and will schedule it next week I'm hoping. This will tell us how the chemo is working and if it's doing what it should be doing. I think it's working because I'm feeling really good health wise lately. I go in this Friday for Round 5 of chemo! Onward and upward? Again thank you all for your love and generosity! I hope to beat this and thank everyone in person one day!
Hi everyone! Here's a cancer update. After all the red-tape the cancer center scheduled me this Friday to finally continue chemotherapy. I'm actually 2 treatments behind now and have 3 more total to go. The hold up (I'm guessing) was the having insurance kick in January 1st and the insurance people, primary doctor and the cancer doctor all had to get on the same page. The bright side is I'm feeling really dang good and getting around great as well. I'm still getting weird pains in my abdomen area as well as my spleen feeling enlarged. I'll take this stuff as it's mild to moderate discomfort. I've been off pain pills for over two months only taking an occasional Aleve here or there. I'm skeptical when it comes to this cancer thing. I try not to read up on my diagnosis because there seems to be a lot of bad news attached to it long term. I gotta make everyday count and always be thankful to get another day. But if you think about it that really should apply to all of us!
I'm getting stronger (and smaller) everyday! I wanted to thank everyone who's donated, shared, prayed, loved or even thought about me during my battle with cancer. I've got lots to do still in life... movies to make, ass's to kick, jokes to make... It won't defeat me!
