Help us rebuild an earthquake-proof disability school in Nepal.
With nearly 9,000 lives lost, 1 million homes and 5,000 schools destroyed, even today 2 years later Nepal is still suffering from the devastating 2015 earthquakes.
We are deeply committed to improving the quality of life of those impacted by the earthquakes and our way of contributing is by partnering with the Australian Himalayan Foundation in the programme to rebuild schools.
The Nepalese education system has not recovered from the destruction of thousands of schools. As many children have not been able to return to school, the education of a whole generation of Nepalese children is in jeopardy.

We have achieved some success so far with the rebuilding of 10 earthquake proof classrooms at the Garma Secondary College, a school for children with special needs in the remote Solukhumbu region - one of the worst hit areas of Nepal.

These new classrooms are built under the 'build back better' model, a low-cost environmentally sustainable, earthquake resilient school specifically catering for the needs of students with disabilities.
The next stage of the project is to rebuild the Garma school hall. This is an incredibly important structure as it will initially give the school the space to finally get EVERY child back to school while the remaining classrooms are under construction. The hall also has a vital role for the broader community as it will be the main point of safety for the whole village should the unimaginable happen again.
It will take A$50,000 to rebuild this hall. We know this is an ambitious goal but with your help we know it can be done.
