Fact: The Sisterhood of the Bottomless Mimosa is a podcast by Melissa and CJ. We drink wine and tell each other about amazing women.
Fact: We are going to PodCon 2 in Seattle in January 2019!!!
Melissa and CJ (we/us) have been posting episodes of the Sisterhood since July, but we've actually been working on the podcast since January (it’s like, a lot of work). If you're a listener of the 'Cast, then you know that we are totally grassroots, have no existing platform, and have a high chance of dying in squalor and obscurity. BUT WAIT.
By going to PodCon, we can:
a) Get the word out about our podcast
b) Get hype about our guerilla podcasting efforts by meeting other creators and learning from them!
c) Record our first episode with both CJ and Melissa IN THE SAME ROOM
Since we're fully financed by day jobs, we will be covering all of the costs of this trip out of pocket. We decided to create this fundraiser for any fans or listeners who feel generous enough to make a donation to this trip.
Here's a shake-down of the cost (for anyone thinking this is our first attempt at Sugar Babying):
1) Tickets to PodCon = $110 per person ($220 total)
2) Exhibit table at PodCon (where we can secretly drink hooch out of thermoses and slang Sisterhood Shwag) = $125
3) Hotel room for 3 nights in Seattle = $300 (like probably more but whatevs)
4) Flights from Long Beach/ New Orleans = ~$250 per person ($500 total)
We don't expect to raise all of this by donation, but any bit helps. This is an easy way for fans to show us some love and appreciation for our unpaid efforts. And (if you'd like) we will shout you out on the podcast by name as thanks for your donation! We PROMISE we will not spend your money on booze. Well, unless you want us to.
