Cinnamon Magazine

Hi! Welcome to Cinnamon, an internet-minded magazine co-founded by Caitlin White and Shannon Cooke. The whole purpose of the site is to create edification for thirtysomethings -- especially other women -- through writing about people, places, and things that are inspiring and interesting, whether it be on an every day or cosmic level.

The site was born out of a dream Caitlin had, first in college, and then again in late 2018 after finally finishing a long-lost graduate degree. Casting about for another personal project, an old dream for a publication called Cinnamon Magazine crept back into her brain, and she slowly began making plans to bring it to life. Teaming with Shannon for all the executive and administrative planning, the site went from a creative outlet pipe dream to a full-fledged LLC.

One of the first tenets of the site was to declutter, and limiting publishing to three posts a week is the first step in creating a quality product that reflects the founders' values and ideas, hopes and dreams. To get Cinnamon off the ground, Caitlin is currently stringing some new income together via a couple part-time roles.

Still, start-up costs such as founding the site and LLC along with smaller but essential elements like company email, domain registration and logo design, co-working spaces, merch, events, laptops, software, original photography, editing and potential payments for other contributing writers are both looming and/or already paid by personal investment from Caitlin.
